Anti Ragging Policy Document


The Governing Body of Kazi Nazrul Islam Mahavidyalaya decided to constitute an Anti-Ragging Committee vide the draft resolutions of the UGC circulated in April 2009 vide No. F-1-16/2007 (CPP II) on 19.12.2016


The following instructions are framed to prevent the menace of ragging and foster healthy interpersonal relations among students in the campus of Kazi Nazrul Islam Mahavidyalaya, Churulia. Ragging is strictly forbidden in or outside the college campus. All students shall familiarize themselves with rules/regulations/guidelines on Code of Conduct, Anti-Ragging measures and discipline within the College. All freshers should attend counselling sessions organized for them at the time of the Orientation Programme on the opening day of a session.



Objectives

  • To make aware the students of the dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
  • To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
  • To promptly and stringently deal with the incidents of ragging brought to the notice of the authorities of the institution and forwarded to this Committee.
  • To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Governing Body and IQAC of the College along with punishment recommended for the offenders.
  • Oversee the procedure of obtaining undertaking from the students in accordance with the provisions.
  • Conduct workshops against ragging menace and orient the students.
  • To provide students the information pertaining to contact address and telephone numbers of the person(s) identified to receive complaints/distress cal
  • To take all necessary measures for prevention of Ragging inside the Campus.
  • To adhere to the UGC Guidelines and West Bengal Government Education Directorate notifications in letter and spirit.
  • To have zero tolerance towards offenders who indulge in ragging.
  • To set up an appellate system in case counter cases are reported
  • To display posters and banners throughout the campus regarding Anti-Ragging measures
